Thank you for purchasing the Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Titanium from HD Emergency.

If you are experiencing any problems with your product, please be sure that you have read this manual in its entirety and you fully understand its contents.

3) HUDs

The HUDs are distributed through the HD Server.
You will always receive the latest version.

HD Modular HUD

Click Center of Truck > Select "Modular HUD"
The Modular HUD controls all functions of the truck.
It adjusts to the vehicle you're currently using.
It is not compatible with the HD NextGen Vehicles.

HD Gear HUD

Click Center of Truck > Select "Gear HUD"
Has to be worn to use the HD Equipment
Needed to rez objects with the proper group
Shows remaining hose distance
Gets rid of attach permission dialogs (requires RLV)
Has a Windlight Smoke simulation (requires RLV)


4) Refill Pipes

The refill pipes are used to refill water (blue) and foam (yellow) through the roof access hatches of the truck.
A copy of the refill pipes is available for free as part of the HD Fire System on the SL Marketplace.

4.1) Auto-Adjust

Selecting auto-adjust will attempt to place the pipe at the proper height and angle on a nearby wall.
Use the build tools to roughly face a wall with the rear side of the pipe.
Click Auto-Adjust. The pipe will detect any nearby walls and the ground level and adjust its position.

4.2) Orientation / Direction

This will change the default orientation or swing direction of the pipe.

4.3) Agent

This will switch the type of agent that gets refilled.
The menu displays the active agent.
Color coding identifies it too:
  • Blue: Water
  • Yellow: Foam

4.4) Activate

This will activate the refilling process. The pipe will scan for any nearby trucks.
In order to refill a truck you need to make sure that its tank refill hatch is opened.
If a truck is found that needs refilling then the pipe will rotate to line itself up with the roof hatch.

4.5) Flow

The Refill Pipes have three flow settings: Low, Medium and High (default).
You can cycle through the different flow settings by selecting 'Flow' in the menu.
Water Flow: 900 GPM / 1800 GPM / 2700 GPM
Foam Flow: 480 GPM / 960 GPM / 1440 GPM


5) Equipment

You need to wear the HD Gear HUD in order to use any of the equipment.
You can click on any of the items in one of the compartments to grab a copy.
Alternatively you can click on the center of the truck and select 'Equipment'.
The equipment will temp-attach directly to your avatar. Some of the equipment can only be taken once.
It will restore to the truck when detached while in the same region.
If some of the equipment goes missing then you can select 'Options' > 'Restock All' in the truck menu.

Wheel Chocks

Used to prevent truck movement.
Switch to mouselook, aim at one of the wheels and press the left mouse button to place.
Click on the rezzed copy to pick them up.

Jump Bag

Simple medical jump bag.
Can be carried by avatar as prop.

Fire Extinguisher

Updated version of the HD Fire Extinguisher.
Can be set to Water, Foam or Powder.

Hand Tools

Various hand tools.
Can be carried by avatar as prop.
They have no function yet.

Power Light

Handheld lamp with projector light.

Binding Agent

Binding agent for spills.
Can be carried by avatar as prop.
No function yet.

Hose Lines

Large and small diameter Supply Lines to establish water supply.
Attack Lines with Combination Nozzle and Smoothbore Nozzle to fight fires.
Suction Hose for drafting operations (only available via Equipment Menu).

Fan

Gasoline powered fan to clear smoke.
While carried click on the attached fan to rez it in front of you.
Once placed click on the pull cord handle to start / stop the fan.
Will clear lingering smoke from HD Fires if aimed directly at the smoke.


6) Instructions

6.1) Starting the Truck

Sit on the drivers seat, switch to mouselook.
Click the power button between the RPM and fuel dial.
The engine will start and the screens will power up.
Click the same button again to turn it off.
You can also use the power button on the Modular HUD.

6.2) Options & Access

All options and access settings are on the touchscreen to the left of the driver's seat.
You can also change them by clicking on the center of the truck and navigating the blue popup menus.

6.3) Customization

Select 'Customize' on the driver touchscreen to bring up the Customize Menu.
You can also click on the center of the truck and select 'Customize' in the Main Menu.

6.3.1) Theme

Changes the paintjob of the entire truck.
You can select 'Set UUID' to enter your custom Texture UUIDs.
The cab and body texture have to be entered at the same time, separated with a comma.
Example: 3e210cd0-1e2a-fee2-d9ad-38f11c6103d3 , 6bd67578-d2e8-3c2f-e73c-65c5a8de1950
You can use the HD Titanium Texture Helper to apply local textures.
Please check chapter G) Textures for more information.
You can select ThemeBox to install a compatible HD ThemeBox3 that is rezzed next to the truck.
Please check chapter I) ThemeBox3 for more information.

6.3.2) Sounds

The Sounds Menu is reached via Main Menu > Options > Sounds
You can change the primary, secondary or manual siren sound as well as the airhorn sound.
Enter your custom UUID or leave blank to reset to default.

6.3.3) EM Lights

Allows you to change the color of the emergency light setup.
LB Group A & B - Front and Rear Lightbar
Strobe A & B - Strobes on Front, Sides and Rear
Local A & B - Primary and secondary color for the local light effect
Individual - Enter special mode to change sections individually.
The changeable sections will highlight with a border.
Click on the section you want to change.
Select 'Individual' again to exit edit mode.

6.3.4) Ladder

Color of roof mounted ladder (if available).

6.3.5) Wheels

Color of the wheel hubs.

6.3.6) Plate

Enter individual license plate characters.
Up to 7 characters are supported. A-Z, 0-9, dash and space.
'RANDOM' will generate a randomized license number.
Enter a UUID to use your own license plate texture.
You can use your own texture with the changeable license number system.
To disable the license number overlay enter a single space ' '.

6.3.7) Decal Side / Rear / Boom

Custom texture UUID for area on side of the body (side), above engine vents (rear) and on the aerial boom (boom).

6.3.8) Equipment

Change the color of the equipment (hoses, fire extinguisher, wheel chocks).

6.3.9) Roll-Ups

Tint the roll up doors of the compartment section.
You can select 'Texture' to apply the body texture of the active paint job.

6.3.10) Nozzles

Change the color of the nozzles / turrets.

6.3.11) Light Tower

Change the color of the roof mounted light tower.

6.4) Nozzle / Aerial Operations

The nozzle and aerial are controlled by the officer who sits on the right side.
Turn on the truck to power the touchscreen.
The arrow on the top right with the label "Nozzle" / "Aerial" switch between control modes.
Most of the controls should be self explanatory.
"Select" controls which component will react to arrow key input.
"State" will unfold / fold the aerial boom. The boom can only be operated while unfolded.
The picture of the boom will control which part of the articulated booms will move.
The Aerial Options are not available on the 1500N and 3000N version.

6.5) Dashboard

The dashboard offers a couple of control options. Here is a description from left to right:

6.5.1) Parking Brake

Toggles and releases the parking brake.

6.5.2) Gear Shifter

Display and switches the active gear.
The truck has no torque simulation.
The gear only sets the maximum speed.

6.5.3) RPM, MPH and Fuel Gauge

Displays the corresponding values.

6.5.4) Green Status Display

This displays some basic information:
- Park Brake Engaged
- Turn Signals Set
- Hazard Lights Active
- Park Lights / High Beams
- Low Fuel Warning
You can click on each symbol to change the setting or view fuel percentage.
You may also click on the Turn Signal / Headlight lever to trigger the headlights.

6.5.5) Steering Wheel

You can press & hold the steering wheel to sound the horn.

6.5.6) Siren & Light Panel

You can click on the labeled switches to trigger various light and siren settings.
The lightbar and strobes only light up when the master switch is set.
PRIM is the primary siren.
SEC is the secondary siren.
MAN is the manual siren - it will sound for as long as you hold the button.

6.5.7) Emergency Light Master Lever

You can click on the lever to switch between the Off, Low and High setting.

6.5.8) Water, Foam & Powder Meter

The stripes indicate how much water, foam and powder are left.
There is no powder meter on trucks without aerial boom.
You can click on the label to change the active extinguishing agent.

6.6) Refill

6.6.1) Diesel

This Truck is compatible with the NTBI Global Fuel System (GFS).
You can find more information about it on the Official GFS Website.

6.6.2) Water

The Refill Pipes can be used to refill water through the roof opening of the water tank.
A copy of the Refill Pipes is available for free as part of the HD Fire System on the SL Marketplace.
Click on the blue roof hatch on the roof of the truck to open the filling pipe.
Now line up the truck with the pipes. The pipe is able to swivel and extend.
Try different positions to see how the truck needs to be aligned.
You can click on the main part of the pipe to start the refill process.
Click on it again to stop the flow of water.
Once the tank is filled it will automatically stop.

6.6.3) Foam

The updated version of the Foam Cabinet offers a more interactive way to refill foam.
A copy of the Foam Cabinet is available for free as part of the HD Fire System on the SL Marketplace.
Click on the cabinet to take one of the foam containers.
Accept the permission dialog that asks for attachment permission.
The foam container will attach to your avatar.
You can click on the rear ladder to easily get on the roof of the truck.
Stand close to the yellow hatch on the roof and click it to open it.
Now click on the foam container that you are carrying to refill the foam tank.
If the refilling was successful it will detach the foam container.
If this does not happen then it is likely that the tank is already full.
The truck will let you know if you are standing too far away.
Alternatively you can use the Refill Pipes to refill the foam.
Make sure to switch the Agent to Foam in the Refill Pipe Menu.

6.6.4) Powder

If the truck has a powder tank (purple cap on roof) then you can refill it using HD Powder Buckets.
A copy of the Powder Buckets is available for free as part of the HD Fire System on the SL Marketplace.
Click on a group of powder buckets that are rezzed in-world.
Accept the permission dialog that asks for attachment permission.
The powder bucket will attach to your avatar.
You can click on the rear ladder to easily get on the roof of the truck.
Stand close to the purple cap on the roof and click it to sit on it.
The refill process will start automatically by removing the cap and installing a funnel.
You can either discard the empty bucket or use an HD Powder Storage to refill it.
Each bucket refills 100 lbs of chemical powder.

6.7) Stand Up

If you use the regular option to stand up you might end up being stuck in the cab of the truck.
A safe way to stand up is to either click the seat you are sitting on or to click on the center part of the body.
This will move your avatar out of the cab before automatically standing up and opening the door for you.
You can also say "/2569 exit" or use a gesture with the same command.
You may also click on the X-Symbol on the HUD to stand up safely.


7) Textures

This truck comes with full templates for the body.
You can find them online: http://www.hdemergency.com/templates.html
The body textures have to be saved as JPG in order to display properly.

7.1) Decal Side

This texture is applied to the rear engine of the truck.
The aspect ratio is 2:1 and the entire image will be visible undistorted.
The file should be uploaded as PNG with a full transparent background.
You can use "8dcd4a48-2d37-4909-9f78-f7a9eb4ef903" to clear the side.

7.2) Decal Rear

This texture is applied to the rear engine of the truck.
The aspect ratio is 1:1 and the entire image will be visible undistorted.
The file should be uploaded as PNG with a full transparent background.

7.3) Decal Boom

This texture is applied to the sides of the aerial boom upper arm.
The aspect ratio is 16:1 and the entire image will be visible undistorted.
The file should be uploaded as PNG with a full transparent background.

7.4) Texture Helper

The texture helper can be used to apply local textures for your paintjob.
Rez the texture helper next to your truck.
Make sure that the backside is aimed towards the center of your truck.
The owner of the helper and the truck have to match.
There are 2 faces on the front. The left is for the Cab and the right for the Body texture.
Use the Second Life build tools floater to select your texture from your inventory or your hard drive.
You can click the texture helper to force an update onto the truck it is aimed at.
Every time the local texture on your hard drive changes it will automatically be applied to the truck.


8) Chat Commands / Gestures

The truck listens on channel 2569 to the active driver and officer.
A pack of compatible gestures is available from the Manual HUD

The following commands are supported:
Signal Left [Ctrl+Left] = sigL
Signal Right [Ctrl+Right] = sigR
Hazard Lights [Ctrl+Up] = sigH
Camera [1-9] = cam1 - cam9
Next Camera [0] = cam0
Code 2 (lights) [F2] = code2
Code 3 (lights & siren) [F3] = code3
Code 4 (off) [F4] = code4
Park Brake [Space] = hb
Headlight [L] = headlight
Horn [H] = horntap
EM Master Switch [B] = light
Siren Primary [T] = siren1
Siren Secondary [G] = siren2
Siren Manual [Y] = sirentap
Lightbar [Shift+1] = lightbar
Strobes All [Shift+2] = strobe
Strobes Front [Shift+3] = strobeF

9) HD Theme Box 3

This truck is fully compatible with the HD ThemeBox3.
You can edit the basic HD ThemeBox3 that came packaged with this truck.
The Vehicle Parameter has to be set to any combination of the following:
HD Titanium 1500A
HD Titanium 1500N
HD Titanium 3000N
HD Titanium 3000A
HD Titanium 4500A
HD Titanium 6000A
For example: Vehicle = HD Titanium 1500N, HD Titanium 3000N
It is possible to create cab and body textures that will work on all versions of the HD Titanium.
If your theme does not work for all of them then please limit the compatible vehicles setting.

The following Parameters are supported by this vehicle:
ThemeBox = UUID of texture that should appear on side of the HD ThemeBox
Texture Cab = UUID of cab texture
Texture Body = UUID of body texture
Decal Side = UUID of decal centered on the side (2:1 ratio)
Decal Rear = UUID of decal on engine block at rear (1:1 ratio)
Decal Boom = UUID of decal for the aerial boom (16:1 ratio)
Color Nozzles = RGB-Color-Vector of nozzle / pipes / turrets
Color Ladder = RGB-Color-Vector of ladder that is carried on the roof
Color Boom = RGB-Color-Vector of the aerial boom
Color Wheels = RGB-Color-Vector of the wheel caps
Freebie = TRUE or FALSE. If set to TRUE then no next owner permission warnings are given.
All of those parameters are optional, you can leave any of them if you do not want to overwrite that particular setting.

10) Script API

This truck comes with a simple Script API.
To activate it click on the center of the truck and select 'Options' > 'Script API'
Now enter the channel you want to use to send the commands.
Leave it blank to deactivate the Script API.
The owner of the sending object has to match the owner of the truck.

The following commands are supported:
DEREZ
the truck will derez
SET POS;(vector)
the truck will move to the given region position
SET ROT;(rotation)
the truck will change to the given global rotation
SET POS ROT;(vector);(rotation)
the truck will move to the given region position and global rotation

The truck will reply to each command by repeating it plus an integer for the execution status.

Example:
Object sends: SET POS ROT;<128.0, 128.0, 32.0>;<0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0>
Truck will reply:
SET POS ROT;1 when the move and rotate was possible
SET POS ROT;0 when something hindered the movement
